Patna High Court dismisses plea seeking issuance of degrees to students who completed B Ed, M Ed from Patliputra University

The Patna High Court dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking directions upon the respondent Patliputra University to issue B.Ed and M.Ed degrees to the students who have completed their course for the session 2018-20 and 2019-2021 in the larger interest of the public.

The PIL was filed by the Society of Educational and Regional Cultural Heritage (Search).

The Division Bench of Chief Justice K. Vinod Chandran and Justice Madhuresh Prasad was unable to fathom any public interest in the above litigation and there is not even an averment in the writ petition as to the students being unable to approach this Court if they have been denied their degrees.

“We do not find any reason to entertain the writ petition.”

It is also submitted by the counsel appearing for the University that the examinations were conducted and the results are declared and the University will issue the degrees to the students who have passed in the examination.
