Plea In SC Seeking Directions For Deployment Of Military Personnel In States During Lockdown

A PIL has been filed in Supreme court of India under Article 32 of the Constitution seeking directions for deployment of Military forces in the states to stop overcrowding during lockdown and safeguard of social workers and people in healthcare sector from getting attacked.

It states about the inaction of the Respondent Governments through their Ministry of Home Affairs such as States of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Government of NCT of Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Government of Rajasthan towards failure to secure the life of people who were mobilized on the pretext that these gathered people wanted to go back to their native places for the lack of food and relief works being arranged for them.

The grievance made in PIL is that despite various actions taken by the UTs/ Governments of the States against the attackers still the health sector people and social workers are continuously getting attacked all over the India which is also being obstruction in controlling Coronavirus. Therefore, these health workers are leaving their jobs and thus special protection forces are required in these areas.

The petition also speaks about the people who are quarantined or under treatment are continuously trying to escape from the quarantine Centre, hospitals etc., which further increases the vulnerability to the infection. Thereafter it mentioned the requirement of Armed forces in order to prevent the religious meetings to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the nation.

The petitioner aims at providing security to the people who are getting attacked by deploying Military and Special forces in each state of India and for making lockdown implemented properly in the entire country in order to stop the spread of pandemic disease of Coronavirus.
