Salim Qasim, close to Azam Khan, gets protection from Allahabad High Court

Prayagraj (ILNS): The Allahabad High Court has granted relief to Salim Qasim, a member of Maulana Johar Ali Trust and close to Rampur MP Ajam Khan, by directing the state government to take no coercive action against him. The Court has given four weeks time to the state government to submit its counter affidavit.

The order has been passed by Justice Suneet Kumar on the petition of Salim Qasim filed under section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure.

Senior Counsel Nazrul Islam Jafr, appearing for the Petitioner argues that Petitioner is not named in the First Information Report. None of the witnesses have taken his name. Being a member of the general body of the society his name has been highlighted.

The counsel on behalf of the state prayed for and was granted four week time to file counter affidavit.

The Court has asked the state government to take no coercive action against the applicant pursuant to Session Case No. 900 of 2020 (State vs. Tanzeen Fatma and others) arising out of Case Crime No. 241 of 2019 filed under Section 447, 420, 120B IPC at P.S. Azeem Nagar, District Rampur, pending before Special Judge (M.P./M.L.A.)/Additional Sessions Judge, Rampur.
