New Delhi: The Supreme Court today sought the opinion of the Centre on the possible dates of exams as per a guideline of the UGC.
The three-judge Supreme Court bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subhash Reddy and MR Shah was hearing a batch of petitions challenging the UGC guidelines mandating universities across India to conduct their final year exams by September 30.
The petitioners, which include a COVID-19 positive student, have pointed out that there are many final year students, who themselves or their family members are COVID-19 positive.
Over a dozen students from across the country have moved the top court.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, for the UGC, said that a response will be filed by day after tomorrow. The next date of hearing is July 31.
