A Delhi court on Friday framed charges against disqualified BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his partner in crime Shashi Singh for raping a minor girl in Unnao in 2017.

The court framed charges under Sections 120 b (criminal conspiracy), 363 (kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping or provoking a woman to force for marriage), 376 (rape) and other relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The charges were framed by the District and Sessions Judge Dharmesh Sharma.

Earlier, the apex court had directed transfer of all cases in the matter to Delhi from Uttar Pradesh.

It is pertinent to note that the court has framed the charges even as the victim and his lawyer Mahendra Singh are in critical position in AIIMS Delhi and battling for life.

The case pertains to rape of a minor girl on June 4, 2017 allegedly by Sengar at his home in Unnao. The girl was allegedly raped when she had visited Sengar’s house seeking job.
