The Uttarakhand High Court directed the District Magistrate, Nainital to inspect each mobile food truck and submit a report as to under what valid license are they operating.
The Division Bench of Justice Sharad Kumar Sharma and Justice Ravindra Maithani has taken suo motu cognizance on the installation of mobile food trucks in and around 5 kilometre periphery of District Nainital.
The High Court wanted to know under which provision of law and under which valid licence are they operating and is yet to be gone into by the district administration, for which the Court has not taken any action.
“The District Magistrate, Nainital as well as the Executive Officers, who are present today would conduct an inspection with regard to each such mobile food truck, which has been installed and would submit a report within a period of two weeks from today as to under which valid license they are operating,” the order reads.
The matter has been listed for further hearing on March 21, 2023.
