A Delhi court on Thursday granted divorce to a man after his wife failed to furnish any adequate cause for leaving him.
Family court Principal Judge Shail Jain while granting the divorce noted: “I am of the opinion that the respondent (wife) has not been able to prove any reasonable cause due to which she had to live separately from the petitioner (husband).”
The court observed that the wife had made her intentions very clear that she wanted to leave her husband as she left the country without even informing her husband.
The husband had filed the plea seeking divorce under the Hindu Marriage Act claiming that his wife had not only ditched him but also subjected him to physical and mental cruelty.
He also claimed in the that even after persistent efforts, the wife refused all his appeals and left the marital home sans any “provocation or reason” and also took all her valuables.
