The Allahabad High Court has quashed the FIR against the producers of the Amazon Prime web series Mirzapur. The said web series Mirzapur was under the scanner as it depicted the state of Uttar Pradesh in a bad light, allegedly hence FIR was registered against the producers. The FIR was registered against actor/ producer Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday summoned the Executive Engineer, Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd, Vidyut Vitran Khand, District Ballia to be present in Court on December 13.

A Delhi court on Thursday granted bail to Jawaharlal Nehru University student Sharjeel Imam in a case pertaining to the violence that occurred on the December 13 and 14, 2019 in Jamia Millia Islamia. Imam was arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). He was also among the several activists accused under UAPA registered by the Delhi Police in the Delhi Riots of 2020.
While considering the PIL, the Calcutta High Court bench observed that the allegation which has been made in respect of entering the name of as many as 947 persons in the register of Unani practitioners without having any requisite qualification needs to be enquired into.

The Delhi Court noted that under the provisions of the Places of Worship Act 1991, the present suit was barred and the plaint was rejected under Order 7 Rule 11(a) of Civil Procedure Code (CPC) as the cause of action was not disclosed.
“Merely appointing an Enquiry Officer does not mean that the representation has been allowed, or that appropriate steps have been taken by the State against the erring officers”, observed the Division Bench of Uttarakhand High Court.
