Husband of former ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kocchar was granted bail by the court on the condition that he would execute a PR Bond of Rs. 3 Lakh and submit his passport.
The Supreme Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing on a bail plea filed by human rights activist Gautam Navlakha challenging the Bombay High Court's order rejecting his bail application in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist link case.
The CBI had registered an FIR in October 2018, alleging that Srivastav and Prasad acted as middlemen on behalf of Asthana and tried to save Hyderabad-based businessman Sana Satish Babu from CBI action in the case against controversial meat exporter Moin Qureshi.
“The Adjudicating Authority shall take final decision in terms of Section 31 of the Code (Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code) expeditiously upon submission of report by the IRP,” the bench said.
The Delhi High Court will on May 5 hear the appeal filed by former External Affairs Minister M J Akbar against the trial court order acquitting journalist Priya Ramani in a defamation case filed by the politician for tarnishing his image in the wake of MeToo movement.
