Aadhaar case: SC to pronounce verdict tomorrow

The Supreme Court will pronounce tomorrow the much awaited verdict on the batch of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of Aadhaar on the grounds of it being violative of right to privacy.

The proceedings of Aadhaar case were completed on May 10 when the Supreme Court reserved its verdict on the case. The case’s hearing had begun in 2017.

The case saw arguments from one of the top lawyers of the country such as Senior Advocate Shyam Divan, Senior Advocate Arvind Datar, Senior Advocate Gopal Subramaniam, Senior Advocate P Chidambaram , Senior Advocate Rakesh Dwivedi, Senior Counsel K V Vishwanathan, Senior Counsel Kapil Sibal while on the government side Attorney General K K Venugopal and Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta presented their arguments before the SC constitution bench comprising of CJI Dipak Misra and Justices A K Sikri, A M Khanwilkar, D Y Chandrachud and Ashok Bhushan.
