Allahabad High Court grants bail to Azam Khan but he will be in jail for other cases

The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan. But the SP leader will continue to be in jail for other pending case. There were a total 88 cases against the SP leader, of which he has got bail in 87 cases.

Azam Khan got bail today in a land-grabbing case. He has been accused of using forged documents to show his school as waqf property in revenue records.

The Allahabad Court gave this order after four days of  the Supreme Court expressing its displeasure over the delay in hearing his bail application and said ‘this is a travesty of justice’.

The Apex Court bench of Justice L. Nageswara Rao and Justice B.R. Gavai was hearing the case. The lawyer of Azam Khan informed the Top Court that the HighCourt had reserved its order on the bail application of Khan in the property case over the Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Rampur.

The High Court had reserved its order last year in December, when the Uttar Pradesh government submitted an application for presenting some more details and related evidence through fresh affidavits.
