Central government blames AAP for leaking affidavit filed by Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to press

The Central government has put a blame on the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government for leaking the affidavit filed by Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to the press, before it was filed in the Supreme Court.

The Central government counsel apprised the Apex court that the media had the affidavit, even before it was filed.

The lawyer said that this practice is wrong as the political propaganda was shared with press.

Senior Counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi refuted the allegation and said that the allegation was baseless.

The Counsel said that he has not shared any copy with the media and then told the court that it knew how press got a copy.

The matter cropped when the AAP counsel said that the Delhi bureaucrats were completely neglecting the calls and meetings by the AAP Ministers.

He also said that the administration in the national capital was getting affected due to non-cooperation by bureaucrats with the AAP government.

Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice Hima Kohli said that no more filings would be made in this case now.

The top court of the country said that it was not seeking reply, since people would start filing affidavits till last date….It said it would freeze the pleadings now and let the constitution bench take up the matter.

Yesterday, an affidavit filed before the Court said that officials have stopped taking the calls of Ministers…Officials were disobeying the orders/directions of ministers, including orders/directions that were in writing.

After the Central government issued a notification stating that civil servants were not answerable to the elected government of Delhi, but to the Central government currently ruled by BJP, the problem began.

The Affidavit said that the power to assign posts, effect transfers within the Government of NCT of Delhi, and discipline civil servants was exercised by the Central government/Lieutenant Governor.

It also said that the impugned notification issued by the regime was the reason why the civil servants serving in Government of NCT of Delhi have become indifferent to the elected government.

It mentioned that any cooperation between the two was penalised and discouraged.

The Administrative control over the transfers and postings of officers in Delhi was the ongoing dispute between the Central and Delhi governments.
