The Delhi High Court has admitted a plea seeking the setting up of a legal framework to deal with data leaks and exemplary damages for violating fundamental rights especially ‘right to privacy’ related to the UIDAI and Aadhaar.
The court on Tuesday (August 21) issued notice to the Centre and the UIDAI and asked them to answer within six weeks.
There have been a plethora of leaks and scandals involving Aadhaar and the UIDAI has always lent a deaf ear and a blind eye to these.
