The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to grant bail to Vinit Kumar, key accused in the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) question leak scam on medical grounds.
During today’s hearing, the single-judge bench of Justice N V Ramana was informed by the Kumar’s counsels Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi and Senior Advocate that since Vinit Kumar was suffering from Typhoid he should be granted bail on medical records.
The bench said to the counsels that Kumar couldn’t be granted bail on that condition.
Bihar government’s counsel countered the arguments of petitioner’s counsels and said: “Not a single prescription from doctor shows that he is suffering from Typhoid. That is their presumptions about medical health. Blood report shows nothing.”
The counsel further told the Kumar was being treated at the Jail hospital and he will file the report about the treatment being meted out to Kumar.
The matter will be again heard on Oct 22.
