The Supreme Court judges are facing a major challenge in establishing communication over phone inside the court complex. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a senior official who is familiar with this issue said that call-drops have become an immense problem on the campus, and the judges are finding it extremely difficult to establish contact on mobile phones.
The issues regarding the mobile phone reception has become acute on the apex court’s campus. The official during a discussion with India Legal said “the judges already have a super-hectic schedule to adhere during the day, and it is only possible during breaks to make and respond to telephone calls. The social interaction helps in rejuvenating and balances out the stress associated with day-long busy schedule”.
The issues regarding the mobile reception is also a major issue with litigants and advocates on the Supreme Court campus. Nitin Sharma, a litigant speaking with India Legal said “It is not possible to have a conversation while one is on the Supreme Court campus. I usually spend many hours on the campus and it is very difficult to make or respond to phone calls. Mobile connectivity is only available outside the campus. It is a very big problem for the litigants”.
