SC lists review plea challenging setting up of New Delhi International Arbitration Centre in July

The Supreme Court on Thursday listed the review petition challenging the Delhi High Court order staying the appointment of Dr Rajiv Mani, Joint Secretary and Legal Advisor, Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice as the custodian of the undertakings of the International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ICADR) in the first week of July.

The Centre on March 2 passed an ordinance for the establishment of New Delhi International Arbitration Centre (NDIAC) replacing ICADR with the aim of creating an independent and autonomous regime for formal arbitration.

The Ordinance envisages the establishment of an independent and an independent body for organizational arbitration and to get hold of and move the undertakings of ICADR to NDIAC.
