SC rebukes strongman DP Yadav for not using bail granted to him for surgery

The Supreme Court on Tuesday rebuked former BJP leader and strongman D P Yadav for not using interim bail granted to him by the apex court for surgery and told Yadav to file a report on Oct 11 stating when the surgery can be conducted.

The bench comprising CJI Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, K M Joseph expressed dissatisfaction upon bail being taken for granted and said “Pre-operative checks should have been concluded long back as the petitioner is on bail since September 25. Don’t take advantage unnecessarily, we will send you back to jail”.

The bench also rubbished the medical report furnished by Yadav today saying that it was vague and unclear and only said about the patient’s ailments while not mentioning about the medical treatment Yadav needed.

The apex court had granted interim bail to Yadav on Sep 18 on medical grounds if he deposited Rs 1 crore along two sureties of the like amount before the trial court.
