SCAORA writes to CJI seeking resumption of oral mentioning

The first suggestion seeks a mentioning Registrar to be made available in a hybrid manner that is both physical and virtual mode for a limited time for hearing urgent mentioning matters.

The Supreme Court Advocates on Record Association (SCAORA) has written to Chief Justice S.A. Bobde seeking resumption of oral mentioning in the Supreme Court.

The Association has suggested certain measures to be adopted for resumption of oral mentioning.

The first suggestion seeks a mentioning Registrar to be made available in a hybrid manner that is both physical and virtual mode for a limited time for hearing urgent mentioning matters.

The second suggestion seeks indication of separate timings for oral mentioning before the mentioning Registrar for physical and virtual modes of oral mentioning with links created accordingly.

It has further been suggested that the same procedure as in days of normalcy be adopted for oral mentioning before the mentioning Registrar along with the additional facilities of e-filing and virtual hearing for a limited time.

Further AORs/Advocates/party in persons aggrieved by the rejection of any mentioning by the mentioning Registrar be permitted to mention before the Chief Justice of India or the concerned court where the subject matter of mentioning is pending.
