Supreme Court orders an interim stay on criminal defamation proceedings by Rohini Sindhuri IAS against D Roopa Moudgil IPS

The Supreme Court passed an order for an interim stay in the proceedings that were initiated against the IPS officer S Roopa Moudgil by the IAS officer Rohini Sinduri.

A bench comprising of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Pankaj Mithal  have clearly instructed the senior Karnataka-based civil servants for bighh to speak to the media.

The bench said that the Criminal Case subject matter of this petition will not proceed further.

The court is making an agreement attempt to resolve all the disputes pending between the parties, none of them shall give any interview or any information to the media, social and print, in any form.

On December 15, the Apex Court had instructed the IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil to remove all social media posts against IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri within 24 hours and has asked for an undertaking of the same.

A bench comprising  of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Pankaj Mithal said that the Administration can come to a standstill if the officers continue to fight and refuse meditation.

It is pertinent to note that during proceeding on thursday, both officers were present in person for allegations and counter-allegations.

The Court said  that although it was emotional arguments but parties should refrain from this as there is no place for emotions.

The case will be heard next on January 12, 2024.
