Justice DY Chandrachud, the senior judge from Supreme Court on Thursday expressed his anger on the recent targeting and attributing motives to judges.
Justice Chandrachud was hearing an oral mentioning of listing a case relating to violence and attacks on Christians. He was pointed out that there was criticism in media about judges not taking up the case.
“Give us judges a break. I was down with Covid and hence, the matter was deferred. D.Y Chandrachud showed his anger and saying that “I read in the news that judges are not taking it up. There is a limit to targeting us.”
The plea was filed by Archbishop of Bangalore Diocese Peter Machado and National Solidarity Forum which said that claimed that there is targeted violence against Christians by right wing organizations.
They have asked for registration of first information reports and probe by special investigation team into such instance.
The plea has also prayed for quashing frivolous cases filed by such attackers on the victims.
