The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed that term of office of BCCI’s Committee of Administrators (CoA) will expire upon election of new officials.

A bench headed by Justice SA Bobde said that no action should be taken against the CoA and other officials for their acts without the permission of the court.

The order will allow former India captain Sourav Ganguly-led new administration to take charge of BCCI.

Earlier, the apex court on Sep 20 had allowed the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) to hold elections to elect its officials on Sep 28.

It had observed that though the state cricket association has not fully embraced the new constitution of BCCI, but could definitely hold elections.

The CoA had objected to the ruling saying that it will set a wrong example.
