Uttarakhand High Court has quashed President’s rule in the state, and has ordered a floor test on April 29th, wherein Harish Rawat will be required to prove his majority.
Division bench headed by Chief Justice KM Joseph said, “We don’t agree with the imposition of the President’s rule,”
Ousted CM Harish Rawat has termed this as a victory for the people of Uttarakhand, as he said, “People have a right to govern themselves,”
On grounds of ‘breakdown of Constitutional machinery’, President’s rule was imposed in the state on March 27th; after a section of Congress MLAs rebelled against Harish Rawat.
