Delhi HC judge Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal on Tuesday directed 2G spectrum accused Swan Telecom’s Shahid Usman Balwa, and others to comply with its earlier order and complete the plantation drive.

The court had earlier ordered Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Usman Balwa and four others to plant 15,000 trees in the Delhi South Ridge area for failing to file responses on an appeal by ED and CBI challenging their acquittal in the 2G case.

It had asked them to appear before the Deputy Conservator of Forests for allocation of land for plantations.

“The trees should be of indigenous variety and must be taken care of till the monsoon. The trees should be of nursery age three-and-a-half years and six feet in height,” the court had said.

It had also asked them to submit pictures of their plantation drive on the next date of hearing.

The single-judge bench of Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal posted the matter for next hearing to Oct 24.
