Once the theme and style of a restaurant is decided, the business needs to be registered as a partnership or a private limited company.

A host of licenses and permits are supposed to be obtained – (i) yearly health/trade license from the municipal corporation, renewable every March; (ii) FSSAI licence to operate a food business; (iii) GST registration; (iv) Professional Tax Registration; (v) Shop and Establishment Registration; (vi) Liquor licence; (vii) Eating Housing licence; (viii) Fire Safety NOC; (ix) Lift clearance from the electricity department; (x) Music Licence; (xi) Environmental Clearance; (xii) Signage License to advertise the restaurant through posters, paintings, graphics etc.
