Saraswati Thakur, mother of former CJI TS Thakur passed away today after a brief illness. Her husband, was late DD Thakur, a well-known jurist and deputy chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, governor of Assam and a judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. A very private person, Saraswati Thakur had put in a rare public appearance in New Delhi when her son was sworn-in as 43rd CJI of India on Dec 3, 2015. He retired on January 4, 2017.
