Claiming that the probe has hit a major roadblock after the Himachal Pradesh High Court put a stay on the arrest of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, the Central Bureau of Investigation moved the Delhi High Court against the stay orders, today.
The CBI further submitted to the court that it was a serious matter and the agency was unable to move ahead with the investigation inspite being armed with incriminating evidence against Singh.
The Delhi High Court, meanwhile, asked senior advocate Kapil Sibal, who was appearing on behalf of Singh that why should the CM not cooperate with the CBI to complete the investigation at the earliest.
The court also mulled whether the matter should be transferred to a division bench of Delhi High Court since the stay orders have been passed by a division bench of the Himachal court.
The matter will be heard on Wednesday.
