The Delhi High Court today adjourned the petition demanding cancellation of interim bail granted to Kanhaiya Kumar, April 28.
During the proceedings, senior advocate R P Luthra who was appearing on behalf of the petitioner Vineet Jindal, argued that he has locus to which the bench of Justice Suresh Kait said, “It is settled law that anyone can file complaint but this is a case in which interim bail has been granted. How can you prove locus?”
Luthra further submitted that Kanhaiya Kumar violated the conditions laid down while granting bail, and held a press conference.
Justice Kait then asked the petitioner to file a police complaint if conditions have been violated, and let the police report it.
Luthra also argued that there was enough evidence on social media proving that Kanhaiya violated the conditions of interim bail. He also claimed that he was the only intervener from the beginning in the petition before Supreme Court. The court refused to take action on programmes shown on the TV or social media.
Meanwhile, senior advocate Rahul Mehra for state argued, “There is no proof to show any violation.”
Luthra also submitted a CD containing the speech made by Kanhaiya after he came out from jail, and was granted the permission to verify the authenticity of its contents.
