Discrepancy in Tyagi Committee report submitted to court: AG

After objection raised by Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi that one of the pages inserted by the respondent as part of Tyagi committee report on quadricycles, is not part of the report, the Supreme Court directed the respondent to file the original copy of the report and registry to verify the discrepancies.

The bench of Chief Justice of India and Justice UU Lalit was hearing the matter involving the legality of the lightweight, intra-city, four-wheeled travel vehicle, also known as quadricycles

The Centre has appealed against an order passed by Gauhati High Court on a PIL, which banned auto manufacturers from releasing and selling small four-wheelers with a mass up to 1500 kg and quadri-cycles without putting them to crash-test and emission test

The court asked senior advocate Gopal Subramanian who is appearing for respondent to explain the objection raised by Rohatgi, and file an affidavit

The matter has been adjourned for six weeks.
