The case-matter pertains to the grant of land on lease @Re 1 by the former CM of Himachal Pradesh, Prem Kumar Dhumal to a society headed by his son Anurag Thakur in Dharamshala . Anurag Thakur later formed a company incorporated in State of Uttar Pradesh and got a cricket stadium and a five star pavilion constructed there.
The present Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, after coming to power lodged criminal proceedings against Anurag Thakur which was later stayed by Supreme Court. Current CM, Virbhadra Singh is also a party since Mala fides has been alleged against him. He was represented by Dr Rajeev Dhawan Senior Advocate, State of Himachal Pradesh by Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal And Himachal Pradesh Police by Senior Advocate Harin P Raval. Matter was adjourned since Dhawan sought time to file counter affidavit on behalf of CM.
Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association and another Vs State of Himachal Pradesh and others was listed on 19th April, before bench comprising of Justice AK Sikri and Justice RK Agrawal of the Supreme Court.
Matter after completion of pleadings is listed for 19th July.
