All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has challenged the allotment of Pressure Cooker symbol to the party Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), launched by MLA TTV Dinakaran in the apex court on Wednesday (March 21).

On March 9, the Delhi High Court had earlier directed Election Commission of India (ECI) to allot a symbol and a suitable name for the AIADMK faction led by Dinakaran.

AIADMK sought early hearing in the case. The Supreme Court is likely to take up the case on March 26 or on March 30.

On March 15, Dinakaran at a public event had announced the launching of his party named as AMMA. He announced that his party’s symbol would be Pressure Cooker.
