The Allahabad High Court bench of Chief Justice D B Bhosale and Justice Sunit Kumar on Monday (May 21) sought a report from the CBI on the affidavit of Unnao rape victim’s mother in which she had complained that CBI was not doing impartial investigation and that her FIR was filed separately by the investigating agency.

As per the last order of the court on May 2, the CBI submitted its progress report today.

Previously, the victim’s mother had also filed a plea in the court demanding investigation into the missing Pintu Singh, who filed a false FIR against the deceased father of the victim in the Arms Act.

The bench was acting on the plea in which it had taken suo motu cognizance of the incident in which BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar allegedly raped a minor girl in Unnao.

The next date of hearing was listed to May 30.
