The Allahabad High Court on Thursday (January 25) has stayed the demolition of Hollywood Dream Banquet Hall at Vaishali metro station, Ghaziabad.
The division bench of Justices Tarun Agarwal and S D Singh was hearing the petition which has challenged a notification by Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) ordering demolition of the Banquet hall.
Advocate Shivam Yadav appearing for the petitioner submitted to the bench that Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has given the land to Banquet Hall on lease.
Yadav further submitted that since the land belongs to DMRC, the dispute should be resolved by the Government of India’s urban development ministry and not by the GDA.
