The Supreme Court on Tuesday (May 8) directed Secretary, Water Resources Ministry, to be personally present in the court on May 14 after Attorney General (AG) K K Venugopal sought adjournment of the hearing.
Venugopal informed the court that draft Cauvery scheme was ready.
The matter was listed for next hearing to May 14.
On May 7, Karnataka had told the apex court that it had already supplied 116.697 tmcft of Cauvery water, instead of 100.04 tmcft to Tamil Nadu under the “distress formula” owing to poor rainfall and needed left over water for drinking purposes in Bengaluru and the areas falling under its part of the Cauvery basin.
