The CBI on Thursday (May 17) told the Delhi High Court that international blue corner notice has been issued against Baba Virendra Dev Dixit, accused of illegal confinement of women at his Rohini ashram.
Blue corner notice is an enquiry notice and is issued to locate, identify or obtain information on a person of interest in a criminal investigation. Before blue corner notice, a look out circular was also issued for Dixit by the investigating agency.
The bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar was hearing the plea informing the court that several women along with minors were allegedly being unlawfully imprisoned at the Adhyatmik Vishwa Vidhyalaya Ashram at Rohini and were not allowed to meet their parents.
CBI also informed the bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar that an expert member committee has been constituted of one member each from AIIMS and IHBAS to see the mental and physical status of the victims who were living in the Rohini ashram.
Earlier CBI had informed Delhi High Court that its efforts to trace self-styled preacher Virendra Dev Dixit have not yielded results so far.
The bench asked CBI to file the fresh status report on the next date of hearing.
The matter was listed to next hearing to July 27.
