SC unhappy over non-appointment of Lokpal, asks Centre to file fresh affidavit in 4 weeks

The Supreme Court on Tuesday (January 9) disposed of a plea seeking intervention in respect of legal battle between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu over distribution of Cauvery water.

The bench of Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud directed the petitioner Bangalore Political Action Committee, a citizens’ group led by Kiran Mazumdar Shaw to approach the high court and added that it could hear the case only after giving the judgement on Cauvery river.
