The Delhi High Court on Tuesday (March 13) sought CBI’s response on the bail plea filed by Karti Chidambaram in the INX Media corruption case.

The bench of Justice S P Garg sought the response after Karti Chidambaram’s counsel Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal said that he will withdraw the bail plea from the trial court. Sibal also said that Karti’s bail plea was pending since March 5, 2018.

Justice Garg then directed CBI’s counsel to file response within two days.

Earlier today, the plea was listed before the bench of Justice Indermeet Kaur who recused herself from the hearing the bail application without giving any reason. After the recusal, she had referred the case to Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal for relisting before another bench during the course of the day.

The bench listed the matter for next hearing to March 16.
