The Supreme Court on Friday (January 5) dealing with the plea seeking complete ban on firecrackers demanded a report from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The Punjab & Haryana High Court have already banned the burning of firecrackers in Haryana and Punjab. The court was earlier informed that a ban has been imposed on the burning of firecrackers from 8pm to 10pm.
In the earlier order, the Supreme Court had ordered the sale of firecrackers from November 1, but in Diwali, the sale was completely banned.
The court will again take up the case in the next two weeks.
