Delhi HC directs NABH to inspect central and state run hospitals with regards to conditions prevalent there

The Delhi High Court is hearing a petition in which it has taken suo motu cognizance of increasing incidents of violence against doctors in government hospitals.

On Thursday (April 5), the bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Harishankar directed National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) to inspect the central hospitals including Safdarjung Hopital, LNJP and AIIMS and state run hospitals with regards to conditions prevalent there and submit report.

Additionally, the bench also directed respondents to place a report stating steps taken by them in compliance with the last order also.

“On the next date, officers from NABH shall assist this court to suggest measure to be adopted in improving the conditions of government hospitals,” the bench further directed.

The matter was listed for next hearing to April 10, 2018.
