The Delhi High Court on (March 23) granted bail to Karti Chidambaram in the INX Media corruption case.
The bench of Justice S P Garg granted bail on the surety of Rs 10 lakh saying that Karti can’t travel out of the country nor he can close bank accounts.
On March 16, Justice Garg had reserved the verdict. CBI had urged Justice Garg that Karti should not be granted bail as he had already destroyed evidence pertaining to the case. CBI had also urged the bench to take into the account the “influence” factor of Karti.
While Karti’s counsel had denied the claims of CBI saying that Karti was never involved in the tampering of evidence.
