The National Green Tribunal on Thursday (March 15) dealing with the beautification of Yamuna floodplains and the pollution pertaining to it was informed by the Delhi Jal Board’s (DJB) counsel that a canal/ rivulet leading to the Yamuna has dried up due to stoppage of water supply by Haryana.

The counsel also apprised the bench headed by Justice Jawed Rahim that “State of Haryana has to maintain a specific supply of water. They in 2014 submitted an undertaking in the Delhi High Court that they will supply 1052 cusecs of water, which they are not following.”

To which the State of Haryana’s counsel said that he needed time to examine the photograph and find out the reason for drying up.

The bench listed the matter for tomorrow.
