The Delhi Police today filed a chargesheet against former TERI chairman R K Pachauri in a sexual harassment case filed by his former colleague. The chargesheet was filed in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Shivani Chauhan, who has fixed the case for April 23.
In the chargesheet, Pachauri has been accused of outraging the modesty of a woman, stalking, and criminal intimidation.
The chargesheet runs over 1400 pages, has accounts of around 23 witnesses including present and former employees of TERI.
In February last year, a 29-year-old research assistant working at TERI or The Energy Research Institute accused Pachauri of sexual harassment following which an FIR was registered. Following the allegations, the TERI Board announced Dr Ajay Mathur as the new Director General replacing Pachauri.
Pachauri was, however, kept at the helm of affairs and reportedly a special post of executive vice chairman was created for him.
