Haryana govt to Delhi HC: The repair of Munak Canal will be completed by June 29

The Haryana government on Thursday (May 24) told the Delhi High Court that work has been started on the repair of Munak canal and it will float a tender for the repair on June 8 and after that the repair shall be completed within 21 days.

At the start of the proceedings, the bench of the Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar asked the Senior Counsel for the State of Haryana Jagdeep Dhankar: “When the work will start on Munak Canal.”

To which the Senior Counsel replied: “The cheques have been cleared and tender process will be completed on June 8 and after that within 21 days the work shall be completed.”

The bench was hearing the petition pertaining to dispute over water supply between the State of Haryana and Delhi government through Munak Canal.

The bench posted the matter for next hearing to July 23.
