INX Media case: Indrani Mukerjea sent to 14 more days of judicial remand

Patiala House Court judge Sunil Rana on Wednesday (February 7) sentg former chief of INX Media Indrani Mukerjea to a further 14-day remand in judicial custody in the case pertaining to alleged irregularities in the clearance the Foreign Investment Promotion Board granted to the company in 2007.

On Wednesday Indrani, who is also in custody for the investigation of the murder of her daughter Sheena Bora, was

produced from CBI custody. Her custody (judicial now) was extended, because as she has to be produced before a Mumbai court on February 13. She will now be produced via video conferencing on February 20

this is the case in which former finance minister P Chidambaram’s son Karti is also an accused. Mumbai Police told the court that Indrani has to be produced before a Mumbai court on February 13 and cannot be kept in Delhi beyond that.

The Special CBI court had earlier allowed the CBI to arrest Indrani in the INX media case. Special CBI Judge Rana has told the CBI that they should interrogate Indrani for two more days regarding the money laundering case.

The CBI had asked for three days to interview her in the relation to the case.
