Justice V P Vaish takes oath of office in Allahabad HC

Justice Ved Prakash Vaish took oath of office on Monday (November 27) in the Allahabad High Court. The swearing ceremony was held at the Chief Justice Court Room. Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court D B Bhosale administered the oath.

Justice Vaish was transferred from the Meghalaya High Court to the Allahabad High Court in pursuance of the notification issued by the Law Ministry on November 14.

With the joining of Justice Vaish, the tally of the total judges at the Allahabad High Court and Lucknow bench has increased to 109.

Allahabad High Court is the largest court in Asia, where more than eighty courts hear lawsuits. Despite this, there is a huge pressure of about one million pending lawsuits. In order to expedite the trial of pending cases, the Allahabad High Court has already started hearing the cases on Saturday.
