Following its “success” in the morning at the Supreme Court, even as the Congress was preparing for the floor test ordered by the top court tomorrow at 4pm, the BJP machinery was up to more “action”, so to say.

Even as Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s tenure is set for a big test, it went ahead and appointed its MLA KG Bopaiah as protem speaker of Karnataka Assembly. The pro-tem speaker will have a lot of say in how the floor test is conducted.

With this information, Congress lawyers again rushed to the top court for justice.

The Congress claims the senior most MLA, who is traditionally appointed as protem speaker, belongs to it. Bopaiah was, in 2010, rebuked by the Supreme Court for being partisan during the vote of confidence.
