Former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has been granted a five-day parole to attend the wedding of his son Tej Pratap. Lalu is serving a sentence after being jailed in the fodder scam. He had missed Tej Pratap’s engagement ceremony.
Last week an application for parole was sent to the IG Jails of Jharkhand where Lalu is lodged – he has just returned from a check-up come treatment session at AIIMS after he was declared fit to travel. Last week Lalu had moved an application for provisional bail before the Jharkhand High Court but it had been deferred to May 11 because of a strike called by lawyers.
The marriage is later this week. Tej, who is an RJD MLA as well as teh former health minister, will be marrying Aishwarya Rai, daughter of RJD MLA Chandrika Rai, on May 12 in Patna, according to reports.
