Following the much-hyped trip of US’ “first daughter” Ivanka Trump to Hyderabad for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, Hyderabad House in Delhi will host former US president Barack Obama. This happens at 1pm on Friday (December 1). Hosting him will, again, be Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Obama will be at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in Delhi in the morning, from where he will travel directly to Hyderabad House for the special lunch. Interestingly, while Hyderabad House has always been served from the kitchens of ITDC hotels, this special visit will have food delivered from Delhi’s most popular private restaurant Indian Accent (now in Lodhi Hotel), run by celebrity chef Manish Mehrotra.
The reason of this change is not known, but it possibly caters to Obama’s taste buds. Obama has visited this country as President two times (2010 and 2015). This is his third visit, the first in a non-official capacity.
This special lunch, it is heard, will be only for eight people. Apart from the two VVIPs, possibly the new US Ambassador to India, Kenneth Juster will be present.
