The executive’s eagerness to enter into the chaos and fish in troubled waters that has been created after four judges of the Supreme Court — Justices Jasti Chelameswar, Ranjan Gogoi, Madan B Lokur and Kurian Joseph – slammed Chief Justice Dipak Misra in a press unprecedented conference on Friday (January 12) has been snubbed by the top judge.

At about 9.30am on Saturday Nripendra Mishra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi rushed to meet Misra. Obviously, he was carrying some information/ suggestion from the Prime Minister himself.

It has been reliably learnt by India Legal that Nripendra Mishra was refused entry into the CJI’s residence and had to beat a hasty retreat.

Meanwhile the Bar Council of India Chairan Manan Kumar Mishra has said: “Holding a press conference on a minor issue of roster is saddening. We have a meeting at 5 pm today and tomorrow our delegation will meet those senior judges, the CJI and other judges and request them to not bring issues like these in front of the public.”
