On Saturday (January 6), the bail plea of a 16-year-old student accused of murdering 7-year-old, Pradyuman at Ryan International School was deferred till January 8 by a Gurugram court.
The accused juvenile, a Class 11 student of Gurugram’s Ryan International School was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on November 8 — two months after Pradyuman was found dead, with his throat slit, in the campus of this school.
The probe agency had arrested the juvenile after its investigation revealed that he had allegedly killed Pradyuman hoping that the murder of a student on the school’s campus would force a postponement of a scheduled parent-teacher meeting and exams.
The arrest of the Class 11 student came months after the Gurugram police arrested Ashok Kumar, a bus conductor at Ryan International School, for the murder.
Kumar was arrested late in the evening of September 8, hours after Pradyuman was found lying in a pool of blood in the bathroom of the school. The Gurugram police had alleged that Kumar had slit Pradyuman’s throat after the child resisted his sexual advances and attempted to raise alarm. These charged, brought against Kumar by the Gurugram police, had been found to be “fabricated” by the CBI, which had been asked by the Haryana government to probe the case.
