In a huge blow To Congress and a big relief for BJP, Supreme Court bench headed by Justices Dipak Misra and Shiva Kirti Singh stayed Uttarakhand High Court’s yesterday’s order of quashing President’s Rule in the state till April 27th.
The bench recorded an undertaking given by Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi that the “Union of India shall not revoke the Presidential proclamation till the next date of hearing”.
The Court ordered that the High Court is required to give its final judgment on quashing of President’s rule by April 26th; and presented before the bench.
The matter would be finally listed on April 27th, when the Bench would give it’s final verdict on the issue of President’s Rule in the state.
Disqualified MLAs from Congress also proceeded to Supreme Court to challenge their disqualification from the floor test, which is scheduled for April 29th.
